Trading Cards were implemented as a beta mid May and has been under iterative development ever since. Some features promised like a “Card Binder” and a “Trading Hub” have been delayed until after release. Valve has also assured us Cards for games will continued to be implemented as they are created by both Valve and other game Developers.
With the release of Trading Cards there is a growing speculation among the community that the highly anticipated “Steam Summer Sale” is right around the corner. The speculation is not unfounded as a Valve employees have released this statement: “making trading cards available to all Steam users is a step towards an event we think everyone can be excited about.”
It’s exciting that the Trading Cards will be available to all steam users and that we may see the Summer sale soon, June 26th could be a very big day on Steam!
