One of the disadvantages of installing Xposed framework is that since it modifies the system partition, it becomes impossible to accept future OTA updates. Additionally, many apps like Android Pay refuse to work for security reasons. An XDA member has now managed to fix these issues with Xposed by releasing a systemless version of the framework.
The systemless version of Xposed framework should work with all Android devices that are compatible with Chainfire’s systemless root, though your mileage may vary. Users have already confirmed that it is working on the HTC One M8, HTC 10, Nexus 9, and Galaxy S7. With systemless root installed, you should be able to receive future OTA updates and use Android Pay without any issues. Once you install an OTA update though, you might need to reinstall the framework again to get things working again. As for Android Pay, you will have to first toggle the framework off, which might not be particularly convenient, but at least provides Xposed framework users with a way to use Android Pay. You cannot install systemless Xposed framework on top of your regular Xposed installation. You will first have to revert your device back to stock and then flash the systemless Xposed ZIP file.
